Safari season dawns with a kaleidoscope of colour
Set on the confluence of two mighty rivers in the Lower Zambezi, the Chongwe, and the Zambezi Rivers, Time + Tide Chongwe is a destination known for its exceptional wildlife sightings, birding, walking, canoeing, and boating safaris. Officially open for safari season, we’re delighted to share its refreshed look that celebrates Zambia with traditional Chitenge fabric.
The Main Area
With incredible views, cascading green ancient trees and a warm-hearted welcoming team, the main area is an inviting space for guests to enjoy meals, read a book or watch elephants wading across the river. Alternating Chitenge scatter cushions and napkins add a splash of colour to the space, and African-inspired elements of wood, dried grass and unique shapes celebrate the vibrance of Zambia, often referred to as the heartbeat of Africa.
One thing that hasn’t changed this season are the elephants that meander around our camp collecting Albida pods, an ever-exciting encounter for guests staying at Time + Tide Chongwe.
The Safari Tents
Not only do our eight safari tents offer some of the best views in the Lower Zambezi, each one possesses its own Chitenge print now too. Walking in, the eye-catching functional headboard presents a bold pattern on either side. Outdoor and indoor scatter cushions and a large ottoman in the bathroom tastefully enhance the space with the same pattern. A swoon-worthy detail worth noting is the woven straw light installation in the bathroom – every bathroom has a uniquely woven colour to compliment its Chitenge pattern. To further improve the guest experience, each safari tent has a wooden desk, lamp, natural straw chair and drinks trolley.
